Kabul: October 25, 2024: AfghanAbdalyan have put on a commendable all-round performance to beat India A by 20 runs in the 2nd semi-final and advance to the Grand Finale of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024.
Earlier in the evening, AfghanAbdalyan won the toss and opted to bat first. The openers Sediqullah Atal and Zubaid Akbari started off really well and shared 137 runs for the first wicket. They have put on a stellar batting performance to help the team post 206/4 runs on the board in the first inning. Sediqullah Atal (83) scored his fourth half-century in the tournament whereas Zubaid Akbari (64) and Karim Janat (41) chipped in with important runs to their names.
In defense, AfghanAbdalyan bowled their hearts out and tried their all to defend the total. The momentum of the game shifted from one end to the other on regular occasions but Darwish Rasooli and his boys held their nerves to successfully defend the total, beat India A by 20 and make it to the Grand Finale of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024.
Sediqullah Atal, who scored an incredible 83 runs off 52 deliveries and had struck 7 fours and 4 sixes in his inning, was declared as the Player of the Match for the third time in the tournament.
AfghanAbdalyan (Afghanistan A) will now face Sri Lanka A in the final showdown, as they secured their place by defeating Pakistan A this afternoon.
