Kabul, September 11, 2024 – Afghanistan Cricket Board’s national selection committee has finalized squads for the 4 participating teams featuring in the 7th edition of the Etisalat Cup – Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament 2024, starting September 16 in Nangarhar Province.

Afghanistan’s ODI & Test Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, ODI Vice-Captain Rahmat Shah, young talented opening batter Abdul Malik and talented right-rum fast bowler Yamin Ahmadzai have been named as skippers for the Mah-e-Par Stars, Pamir Legends, Hindukush Strikers and Maiwand Champions respectively in the 42-day-long multi-day event. Each team will play the others twice in a double-round robin format, followed by a final, scheduled to begin on October 22 at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Stadium in Nangarhar Province.

Mahe-ePar Stars:

Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Ijaz Ahmad Azad (VC), Yousuf Shah (WK), Ali Shmad Nasir (WK), Imran Mir, Riaz Hassan, Allah Noor Nasiri, Shams Ur Rahman, Farmanullah Safi, Zahir Khan, Mohammad Ibrahim, Ikramullah Momand, Mohammad Gul, Amir Hamza, Kamil Kakar and Zahir Shehzad.

Pamir Legends:

Rahman Shah (C), Zia Ur Rahman Akbar (VC), Ikram Alikhil (WK), Masoud Gurbaz (WK), Shabir Noori, Usman Noori, Sohail Khan Zurmati, Islam Zazai, Asif Musazai, Juma Gul, Ismat Alam, Fitratullah Khawri, Abdullah Ahmadzai, Nijat Masoud, Bashir Ahmad, and Khair Mohammad.

Hindukush Strikers:

The Mah-e-Par Stars will take on the Hindukush Strikers in the opening fixture, starting on September 16.

As a significant part of Afghanistan's domestic cricket structure, the 7th edition of the Etisalat Cup – Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament 2024 will play a crucial role in the growth of red-ball cricket in the country.
